Chelsea VERSUS Valencia

The 2019–20 UEFA Champions League is the 65th season of Europe's premier football tournament. The final will be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. There are initially 55 countries participating in the League. Read our predictions for some of the upcoming games.

Chelsea VERSUS Valencia

The game will be played on the 17th September, 2019 and both teams are expected to progress to the knockout phase. They will meet at Stamford Bridge and bookies place Chelsea as the comfortable favourite. Chelsea's new manager, Frank Lampard, seems to have taken a rather peculiar direction with the team. Selling David Luiz and Gary Cahill and replacing Willian and Giroud with their younger colleagues Mount and Abraham are a few of the most controversial moves Lampard has taken so far. While it is true that Mount and Abraham are talented and they played in the Championship League the previous season, they were given a critical task of restoring the team and turning it into a powerful force in the League.

The question now is whether Valencia has got what it needs to take advantage of the changes in Chelsea's leadership. Valencia played a full part in last season's Europea League and they were also part of the Champions League group phase, even though they failed to go past it. New names like Maxi Gomez and Jasper Cilessen joined the team in the summer, so we can expect a good game against Chelsea.

Bayern Munich VERSUS Red Star Belgrade

Bayern has managed to win 75% of the last 20 home cup games they played, with their opponents having lost 38% of their last 16 away cup games. Red Star Belgrade won their last away game in the cup against Spartak Trnava, nine games away. Bayern lost against Liverpool during their previous encounter. They also won 15 cup games at home and scored first in 14 out of the 15 encounters. Red Star Belgrade scored at least 2 goals in 7 of their last 16 away games. The last time the team didn't score at home was in April 2019 during the Sevilla game which ended in a draw 0-0. As for Red Star Belgrade, they recorded a draw against Suduva Maijampole in July 2019.

There is a 72 per cent chance of this game having more than 2.5 goals and an 88% chance of Bayern defeating the Red Star.
