The final round of games in Serie A takes centre stage this weekend, but with almost everything having been already decided, there will be a lot of teams playing without pressure for the first time in a long time. But, which teams will be able to end the season with a final three points? Read this week's soccer tips to find out.
Atalanta vs Inter Milan
One of the final factors that are yet to be decided in Serie A is the place in which the teams in second, third and fourth will finish. All of the sides in the battle will be hoping to avoid fourth as it will mean a qualifying game to make it to the Champions League group stages. Atalanta and Inter Milan will bring their season to a close with a winner take all showdown. Both sides will already be looking ahead to the future, with Atalanta and Inter still both in their respective European competitions
Inter and Atalanta have had their chances to dethrone Juventus this season, but both failed to maintain their form when the pressure was on. However, Atalanta have been a difficult team to beat throughout the season and may have one eye on scoring 100 goals this season. They are just four shy of that tally at present. Atalanta have actually been better on the road this season, as they have lost just once. At home, they have lost four games, but they haven't been beaten since late January.
Inter have remained competitive throughout the season, but Antonio Conte will still be disappointed with his debut campaign in charge if they don't win a trophy. Romelu Lukaku has been in excellent form throughout the season as he has scored 29 goals in all competitions. Inter have been consistent on the road this season as they have lost just twice. However, the preference for this fixture would be for the draw, as the last two meetings have ended with that result.
Juventus vs AS Roma
Juventus have recently been crowned champions of Italy for a ninth straight season, and they will look to end the season with another home victory. They have been in indifferent form over the past couple of weeks as they went on a three-match winless streak. However, they were crowned champions after a home success against Sampdoria, with Cristiano Ronaldo once again amongst the scorers.
AS Roma will be hoping that their place in the Europa League is confirmed by the time that they travel to Turin, as they will not want to be relying on a result against the champions. Roma have struggled on the road this season as they have won just nine of their 17 games. Meanwhile, Roma come into this fixture having won their last two on the road.
Juventus have won two of the previous three meetings between these two sides, while AS Roma's only win in the last two years against the Old Lady came towards the end of last season. Juventus won the fixture earlier in the season 2-1, and they will be looking to repeat that feat. Maurizio Sarri may opt to rest some of his main stars for this fixture as their attentions begin to switch ahead of the Champions League restarting. However, gamblers will still be betting on them ending the season with a final three points against a tricky opponent.
Napoli vs Lazio
Napoli and Lazio have both enjoyed excellent seasons to this point, with Napoli having won the Coppa Italia as the season restarted. Lazio will also be proud of their performances this season as they have finished in the Champions League places. They still may yet be disappointed with how they dropped away in the title race, with the break in play doing very little to help their chances of an unlikely title success. Before the break, Lazio had lost just twice all season. However, since then, they have lost five games.
Their title chances were effectively over as they went five games without a win at the start of July. However, they have since ended that run and have won two on the bounce. The most recent of those successes came against Hellas Verona as they stormed to a 5-1 success. Ciro Immobile scored a hat-trick in that huge success, as he remains on course to beat Cristiano Ronaldo to the golden boot. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Joaquin Correa also found the net in that big win.
Napoli have secured their place in Europe for next season after winning the Coppa Italia, but Genaro Gattuso will still be keen for his side to finish in the top six. Napoli have recovered excellently from a poor start to the season, as they were as low as eleventh at the end of January. The break has certainly benefited them, as they have been able to amend their home form. They haven't lost at home in their last six games, which could be a decisive factor in this fixture. Napoli have also won five of the previous six meetings between the sides. But, Lazio did win the meeting earlier in the season. The most likely result for gamblers for this fixture would be the draw.
