There are some massive soccer predictions for gamblers to make this coming weekend, with important games at the top-end of three of the most competitive leagues in Europe. But, which sides will get the wins that they need?
Real Madrid vs Barcelona
The biggest game of the LaLiga season so far takes place on Saturday, as the second El Clasico of the campaign takes place. Both sides are in a much stronger position than they were for the first meeting, with an opportunity to go level with Atletico Madrid at the top of the lead on the line for the hosts.
Barcelona could move to the top of the league with a win this weekend against the big rivals, as they are just a point behind Atletico coming into this round of fixtures. It has been an excellent second half of the season for Ronald Koeman’s side, as they have come back from the brink to be the outright favourites to win the league title. Barcelona needed a late goal from Ousmane Dembele to get the win on Monday evening, as the Frenchman scored in second half injury time to get a huge win for the Catalonian giants.
Real Madrid also have an excellent chance of regaining their title this season, as they are just three points off Atletico coming into the fixture. Real have won their last three, which includes their most recent victory against Eibar. Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema scored the goals in that dominant success.
Real Madrid have won the last two league meetings between the sides, but we give the advantage to Barcelona this weekend. Barcelona have been in excellent form, and we expect a massive result for Koeman’s side.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Wolfsburg
Bayern Munich have all but wrapped up the Bundesliga title this season, but the race to finish in the Champions League places looks set to go down to the wire. Two sides in a strong position to finish in those positions meet this weekend.
Eintracht Frankfurt have been excellent in the second half of the season, and have moved seven points clear of Borussia Dortmund in the battle for Champions League football. Frankfurt extended that lead this past weekend with a victory against Dortmund. Andre Silva scored the match-winning goal in the 87th minute, and they will be hoping to press ahead this weekend against Wolfsburg.
The travelling side are four points clear of Frankfurt ahead of this fixture, as they have won five of their previous six games. Wolfsburg couldn’t be in better form coming into this fixture, as they have won their last three. Their most recent success was a narrow win at home against Koln, with Josip Brekalo scoring the winning goal 20 minutes from time.
This will be a compelling fixture between two sides that look good value for a Champions League place. Neither side will want to taste defeat on the weekend, which means a draw could be the result that both will be happiest with.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
The race to finish in the Champions League places in the Premier League will go down to the final day once again this season. However, one side that looks excellent value to join Manchester City in the famous competition next season looks to be Manchester United.
The Red Devils hold a nine-point lead over the chasing pack with eight games of the season remaining. It was a huge win for United in their last league game, as they came from behind to beat Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford pulled the Red Devils level, before Mason Greenwood scored the winning goal in the closing stages of the fixture.
It was an opportunity missed for Tottenham Hotspur last time out, as they allowed Newcastle to steal a point. The draw meant that Spurs weren’t able to move into the top four after Chelsea’s shocking defeat against West Bromwich Albion. Spurs are now three points off West Ham, which means that they still have a decent chance, but they will need an extremely strong finish to the season.
United’s unbeaten record on the road in the league is still ongoing, as they haven’t lost away from Old Trafford since January 2020. This will be a big challenge, but we expect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to take maximum points in the capital.
West Ham United vs Leicester City
One of the most interesting fixtures in the Premier League this coming weekend will take place at the London Stadium. West Ham are daring to dream of a Champions League finish, but they will need to maintain the strong form that they have shown throughout the season.
The Hammers moved back into the top four after winning away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening. Jesse Lingard’s excellent form since moving on loan to West Ham continued with a goal and an assist in the 3-2 success. The win for West Ham means that they are one point clear of Chelsea coming into the final eight games of the season.
Leicester City will be wary of falling into the same trap as they did last season, where they missed out on Champions League football on the final day of the season. The Foxes have won just two of their last five league fixtures and were routinely beaten by Manchester City last time out. However, they still have a five-point advantage over Chelsea.
