Land-based casinos in Queensland are a major source of entertainment for the majority of gamers. Not only Aussies, but players from around the world visit brick and mortar casinos in Queensland to feel the adrenaline rush of playing at casinos with real money.

Queensland residents and tourists have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to finding a land-based casino to play their favourite games.  Considering the interest of players for casino games, Queensland is presently working to modify their land-based casinos to offer unlimited entertainment and fun for casino buffs.

Upcoming Queen’s Wharf Casino to Feature 2,500 Slot Machines

The novel land-based casino at the Queen’s Wharf destination resort is working to increase their number of slot machines. Players can expect to find more than 2500 slot machines at Queen’s Wharf, which is more than what any other land-based casinos in Australia presently have.

In 2015, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, the Star, and the Far East Consortium received legal permission to create the Queen’s Wharf gaming hub. The work is in progress and players can expect to visit this incredible casino resort in 2023.

The present gaming resort, The Star, will close after the Queen’s Wharf starts operations. A new departmental store will come in place of The Start resort in 2023. Also, the license of the Treasury Casino will be assigned to another gambling operation.

According to Geoff Hogg, the managing director of Star, there won’t be any change in the licensing conditions of the casino and there will be only one casino for players since the current Treasury Casino would shut down.

The construction is in full swing for Wharf Casino. Two semicircular gardens and the cement base have already been built. The cement base will include landscaped gardens to create a natural ambience and for the purpose of enjoyment. Since the area is in a flood zone, there will be no permanent setups but pop-up cafes near to William and George streets. To keep the landing safe from the riverside impact with a container in the future, 26 pilings are drilled into the bedrock.

This multipurpose resort will have several other features that will include the casino, retail stores, residential towers, hotels, and food outlets.

Jupiters Gold Coast Hotel and Casino

Also popular is the Jupiters Hotel and Casino, the first and the oldest brick and mortar casino in Queensland. Launched in 1985 and operated by Echo Entertainment, Jupiters Gold Coast is a hotel with approximately 600 rooms and a casino gaming floor.

The casino includes more than 1300 gaming machines including video poker and slot machines. Players who prefer playing table games can also enjoy them at Jupiters Casinos as there are around 70 different versions of roulette, blackjack and baccarat amongst many others. Players can play poker for real money as well.

Guests and visitors looking for more fun at Jupiters Coast can indulge in shopping at the Oasis Shopping Centre. Art and music lovers can spend their time in a 2000 seat stadium watching riveting performances and shows. Visitors can also visit a health spa, ballroom, and hold conferences in the conference hall.

The Reef Hotel Casino

Founded in 1996 in Cairns and operated by Casinos Australia International and Accor Casino Investments, The Reef Hotel Casino offers hundreds of deluxe rooms. The casino, located in the Reef, hosts about 500 gaming machines such as baccarat, roulette, blackjack, and Pontoon along with popular table games. If you are a sports punter, you can delight in betting at a TAB Mega Wall hosted by the Reef.

While placing bets on favourite pokies and games, guests and visitors can grab lip-smacking meals and have drinks available at the restaurants and bars on the Reef premises. There’s something more exciting at Reef as the guests can visit the Wildlife Dome and Cairns Zoom to adore the marvellous Australian wildlife.

Jupiters Casino Townsville

Located on the Townsville breakwater, Jupiters Casino Townsville is the sister casino to the huge 'Jupiters Hotel and Casino.' It offers a fantastic sight of the Coral Sea and Magnetic Island and hosts about 300 slot machines, 20 table games, and other casino games along with premium accommodation and entertainment sections.

The casino includes a Keno and TAB section to offer adequate gambling options to players. Players who prefer making huge bets can enjoy playing at their VIP gaming room. Apart from having a casino, the complex includes 20 rooms, a health centre, conference rooms, and a spa.

Visitors who want to explore more can walk to the Townsville shopping district or the beachfront for amusement.

Gambling Laws for Land-Based Casinos in Queensland

Contrary to online casinos, land-based casinos in Queensland are bound by several gambling regulations and legislations. These guidelines are added to safeguard both casinos and their players and to make certain that players are treated well when playing at the casinos.

The Queensland gambling laws are responsible for controlling the Art Unions, Slot Machines, Casinos, Keno, and Lotteries. The gambling laws regulate numerous gambling conditions such as the minimum and maximum bet amounts on particular casino games. These gaming policies don’t allow players to use certain strategies when playing games such as using calculators and card counting methods.

Players need to follow the gambling rules closely to maintain the dignity of the casino. The casino notes the player’s behaviour on the gaming floor and expels them if they are found cheating or creating a nuisance. For that reason, players must be familiar with these guidelines before visiting the gambling floor.
